About the Club of Skopje

The Club of Skopje has been established to raise awareness of the universality of fundamental human rights and international law, to advance social and economic development across the world, and to strengthen intercultural relations between peoples and their communities.

The Club of Skopje is therefore dedicated to promoting democracy and global peace, and all that comes with it, such as human rights, equality, development and prosperity, non-violence and beyond.

Spearheaded by an international group of senior politicians, with the support of experts from the fields of diplomacy, academia and civil society, the Club of Skopje organises regular international conferences, academic programmes, interdisciplinary research and the promotion of diverse initiatives.

The Club of Skopje is led by the Office of President Gjorge Ivanov (4th President of the Republic of Macedonia, 2009–19), the International Center for Alliance of Civilizations in Skopje, and the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin, which are also the organisers of the event.
